You can also experience the magic of whale watching. During the winter and spring, you can see gray whales as over 20,000 of them make a 10,000-mile round-trip journey from Alaska to Baja California so the females can give birth. 

During the summer months, about 2,000 to 3,000 blue whales feed off the California coast. However, blue whales tend to stay further out in the water, so it’s recommended to go on a boat trip to see them rather than stay on the coast.
